Sep 8, 2010 - when people say, that people with faith are nut jobs, its funny to me because even atheists have faith. they have faith that there is no God, and theists have faith there is. so rather than dismissing arguments about faith and calling them irrelevant, they should be able to argue them. if they cant....well....it just proves relgions got the better argument.

BubblesBlue92 Says:

Sep 8, 2010 - also if your going to be a rationalist then Look around for something that does not have a cause (and therefore a beginning). does it go infinitely, or does it ultimately stop? To say that it goes on infinitely leads to a logical dilemma. Without some initial cause, there can be no caused things, and no explanation for causality itself. The only rational answer is that there is at the beginning of all things an uncaused Cause, capable of causing all things. :)

explosivoification Says:

Sep 8, 2010 - @BubblesBlue92 First we don't have faith that there is no god because there is no argument that there is one which also lays waste to your comment about religion having the better argument, Atheism is merely the realization that no religion has been capable of arguing their beliefs.

explosivoification Says:

Sep 8, 2010 - @rwandrall1 Yeah atheism is in Marxism but marxism isn't in atheism good words are in the bible but the bible isn't good words

Sep 8, 2010 - I've noticed about American television that the hosts take a side. They're never, or correct me if I'm wrong, they're rarely objective. In Britain I'm used to watching interviews in which a person is given a platform, and the braodcaster asks broad questions on the part of the audience, and then the audience decides. The television personality shouldn't get involved with "Me" and "I" discussions. I don't care if Maher is talking about religion or alien abduction, that was a shoddy interview.

Sep 8, 2010 - " Christians dont believe in gravity " best family guy line XD

53dumey Says:

Sep 8, 2010 - @lil33punker Yeah, but Stewie caught Brian praying when they thought the world was going to end. Makes ya wonder how many of these Free-Thinkers would do the same .

gravics Says:

Sep 9, 2010 - I love Bill Maher. I'm not a fan of religion because it encourages hate. Bias based on the presumption of being informed. Spirituality can promote peace. Religious people point the finger and spiritual people look inward. Placating to the masses doesn't make you right; it just makes you tolerable.

DavidDraguta Says:

Sep 9, 2010 - these people tbhat work for the stations with their generic oppinions all have low intellect answers that are basic as fuck that any average watcher would go with, i want to slap the guy on the left fuckin HARD like slap the shit out of him lmfao

TheSilverDragon Says:

Sep 9, 2010 - @BubblesBlue92 Here's the major problem for the argument from causality. This argument at most argues for a deist god. One that created the universe but does not intervene nor care about the lives of anyone who inhabits said universe. Religion argues for a theist god, not a deist one. There is a gaping crevice between a uncaused origin to a God that cares about us, answers prayers and punishes us for our beliefs. Atheists do not have faith. They LACK faith, thats the point of the definition.

BubblesBlue92 Says:

Sep 9, 2010 - @UnitedKingdomify i agree.

dopejoel Says:

Sep 9, 2010 - Bill Maher has to be the dumbest atheist.

madjrutt Says:

Sep 9, 2010 - I'm an Atheist. But frankly, it doesn't matter what you believe. Almost 2,000 years ago, Marcus Aurelius knew why worship is pointless. It reads, "If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."

UnitedKingdomify Says:

Sep 9, 2010 - @madjrutt First time I've read that quote. I love it. Thumb.

Sep 10, 2010 - He would rather believe picking a faith is like winning the lottery, if you pick the right one you'll go to "heaven"

SKshooter Says:

Sep 10, 2010 - All Religion is complete shit plain and simple! there is no argument to prove there is a god lol. You think someone can actually prove there is an invisible man in the sky? Give me a fucking break its a joke. The real important thing is to live your life and do what ever the fuck u want. Don't believe all this religious shit, and all the shit the government tries to feed u every day. peace fuckers.
