Mar 24, 2010 - Kind of... but if you decide to upgrade your ram yourself, keep the standard ram. If you have to get it serviced, put in the standard ram for when you get it serviced, and they'll never know as long as you don't break anything in the process.

Apr 7, 2010 - I can't say enough times that if you own a "classic" aluminium macbook unibody (you know, before the rename) upgrading your RAM is the best thing you can do to your performance. You know, they are supplied with 2x1GB DDR3 memories, so if you want 4 Gb, they must go. But, on top of that, those are only rated 533 Mhz... and the FSB on the macbook is 1066 mhz. So in short, the ram is slow. With the 2x2Gb ddr3-1066 setup tho, you get the 1:1 FSB:RAM ratio, which is the best possible as far as I know.

Apr 7, 2010 - @zelehun Hm. Ignore the 533 mhz part. Somehow under windows it shows incorrect number, under os x you can see its 1066. Still, 4 gb helps a lot :)

May 6, 2010 - Hey man, Great video. One question I have Parallels installed on my 15" Pro, I have 2GB's of ram and it starts to lag when running 2-3 programs (lets say safari, windows MS Office, and Itunes). Will adding another 2GB or going to 8GB help with this issue? Thanks.

Jun 14, 2010 - My MacBook Pro 13 Mid 2009 Intel 2.26 Processor model came with a 4GB Ddr3 1066 Spec memory, and recently upgraded to 8gb Ddr3 1333 memory. The Mac Book system says the status of the Memory is OK. But my Mac randomly freezes and especially if a higher memory is allocated to Virtual Machine Windows 7 on Parallels 5. Is my Mac eligible to Run 1333 speed Memory and what is the solution. Please comment...
