Jul 30, 2008 - Professionally build 15 or so, arm with air to ground rockets, simple sights (composite lite armor) a tough, simple attack aircraft.. Who has 300 million for my idea??

OBwanBD5 Says:

Aug 5, 2008 - Awesome to see them flying. Sorry about your Mate, trust he is doing OK with his recovery. Hope to have mine flying sometime soon (read 2 years!) Would love to discuss powerplants, I understand yours has a Nissan March engine? Cheers, OB

May 7, 2009 - bd5 cool, bd5 cool!!! ,wowee asum dude

flybd5 Says:

May 29, 2009 - The BD-5 record is no better or worse than most small aircraft, production or homebuilt. The reason people think they have a bad record is that it is an aircraft that gets a lot of attention, and because there are a ton of dimwit armchair experts mouthing off about things of which they have no knowledge. Most BD-5 accidents can be classified under a category the NTSB won't touch -- pilot stupidity. Peter Gilbertson's accident was one of the few caused by true mechanical failure.

Jun 21, 2009 - DO YOU KNOW OF A BD-5 4/SALE?

RON2920 Says:

Jul 7, 2009 - what engines are the bd's powered with? what is cruise speed? what is top speed? are the wings .020 or .032 any problem with overheating?

LTDBENJY3 Says:

Jul 23, 2009 - in the prop model you can use a rotax engine or a honda civic engine. the rotax will be underpowered slightly. the honda engine cruises at 220 i believe. my dad uses the honda civic motor in his and its liquid cooled. if your looking to buy a flying one it wont be cheap 30-40 thousand for one powered by honda

Oct 2, 2009 - My father has one for sale, let me know if your interested?? 85% complete

czarsolarhydrowind Says:

Oct 2, 2009 - Range would be a problem..

usmctanks1 Says:

Oct 2, 2009 - Short improvised runways close to the front, remember these would be tactical assault aircraft, not strategic ... quick in/out, low radar signature.. short range, but very quick turn around.. another problem though ejection seats..nope to heavy, mmmm... I need another 300 million to solve that problem...

czarsolarhydrowind Says:

Oct 3, 2009 - Do you know anyone looking for a bd-5, my dad has one for sale and some helicopter turbines for power...

usmctanks1 Says:

Oct 3, 2009 - Have some friends that are pilots, will ask, where is the aircraft (region)? Helo turbines to large for this aircraft, the jet on the Coors ones I saw at an airshow were tiny, less than 120lbs ttl weight, Rotax engine prob best way to go, i shall ask them it they are interested and get back to you.

czarsolarhydrowind Says:

Oct 3, 2009 - St. Petersburg, Fl, If you find someone interested I can check with my father and Let them talk to him he knows all about it he is a Ret. Airforce Capt. Thanks CZAR

usmctanks1 Says:

Oct 4, 2009 - Pilot Stupidity..love that comment. It is unfortunate that you are correct, especially when you read the NTSB reports on so many of the GA crashes, most (over 95%) I would say, read "proximate cause..pilots failure to (insert any or all of these; check fuel/weather/control locks/cg/terrian/stay within A/C limits etc) "and many are pilots with thousands of hours!!
